LIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM

Many people, who are not resident of the United States of America, want to live there. For most people it is an achievement of a lifetime. It is believed that there are lots of opportunities that present themselves there and life is made easy. No pains, not much suffering and you can be whatever you want to be. People have even lost
their lives in the process just to make that happen. The desperate ones are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that.  In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth.
It is a pretty common problem most especially among young people, but it is an option if you choose to work hard for it. For those who can do anything to get it can go as far as indulging in things which they didn't dream of. Some marry their citizens, not for love, but for papers and also to have children with them too. The funny thing is that I made some research about the citizens of U.S.A and life is not so much of a bed of roses there as we have presumed it to be. Some of them do not even go to school and many people cannot really afford the standard of living there.
There is a high level of crime and other forms of street behaviors which obviously contradicts the kind of life many of us dreamed to live there. There is no country without economic crises, even in America. In as much as the environment contributes to us achieving our goals, we are the main driving force to achieve it. What happens when you don't go to America? What happens to your dreams and ambitions? Will they fade away because you could not go to that perfect place you had in mind? Will you give everything up because your plans did not work out? Yes America is a wonderful to be, but what is God saying about it? People have deviated from what God wants for them and they have ended up in a huge mess because they were the wrong place at the wrong time.

Have you ever wondered how it will be, if we can make our country suitable for living and making it the dream of others? Some thoughts come to my mind sometimes; thoughts like "living the African dream". I don’t know how it may sound to you, but I know that it is possible to achieve that. Although people consider most African countries as third world countries and we might have a long way to go, but anything is possible. But that is not to say that going to America is a bad thing. It could be one of the best things that can happen to anyone who dreams to be there and works hard for it. But some people prefer to live the dream instead of their destiny!
