PATIENCE IN THE GHETTO

Patient people are seen as people who do not have what it takes to survive in a hard world. Some call it “survival on the street”. In this computer age, nobody wants what is slow. Almost everyone wants results that can be gotten fast; it is usually called "sharp-sharp" meaning "very fast". Patience is like a waste of time. Most people think that patient people are people who are very dull or are not smart enough to get what they want. The ghetto is not a comfortable place; some ghettos are not even seen as existing in the map neither the people living in it. I can imagine a man waking up the morning, he has not even washed his mouth, talk more of taking his bath and he goes out to “hustle”. The ghetto is not a place where you can see nice houses. “Hard life is always found in the ghettos” as some people say. You see people smoking marijuana and using other hard drugs to give themselves some peace and relaxation from worries.
That is where you will see a little child having the mind of an old man because of what he has to go through to survive. It is a place where you have less than the basic standard of living and so many youths who leave there have taken rash decisions as regards survival. But generally, nothing achievable in life is easy; you must go through some challenges, even those that make fast money through fraudulent means still have hard times achieving that.
God created everyone in his own image; the rich and the poor. No one is better than the other in His eyes. No matter how poor you think you are, there is at least a potential or talent that God has deposited in you which you can use to make something good out of your life. You might think you are poor physically but you are rich inside if you can discover yourself and do what God has called you to do. God loves you so much and only wants what is best for you. Ghetto life is not an excuse for us to take rash decisions and sell our conscience to the devil in the name of survival. Trust God to be your sustenance. Get busy with what He wants you to do. He will not fail you. His time is the best. Wait for it!
