I noticed that relationship is very sweet to be in, most
especially when the guy is asking the girl out and she feels like a princess,
gives her conditions if she wants and takes charge
before
saying yes to the guy; "I will think about it". Before I started
dating my ex, we were close friends as I thought. He was really nice at that
time. When he asked me out, I felt like I was in charge; this sense of feeling
special. All I could think of was the happiness his company would give me, the
things we will do together, the experiences we would share together, and the
opportunity of a better closure since we were already friends. I placed all my
happiness on being with him because I saw him as someone that could make me
happy. I could not handle being alone.
Considering the way he was treating me so well as a friend, I did
not want to lose the opportunity of taking it to another level; but I was
wrong.
Everything turned sour. I later understood
better, not to depend on anyone for happiness, not to commit my life to someone
most especially someone who is not a child of God even if the person gave me
the world. No matter how the person cares for you or how the person
"loves" you as you may see it, the relationship will not survive the
test of time unless God is involved it. The level of frustrations and heartache
I experienced was far worse than the level of happiness I had. It was like love
turned hate. Everything was based on lust and selfish gains, not LOVE in true
sense.
