LOVING THE IMAGE

You are created in the image of God; it means that if you want to shake God, you don’t need to go to heaven to shake him, you can use your right hand to shake your left hand. If you want to hug God, you can hug your neighbor. Appreciate the image you see, it is
a form of worship. You cannot appreciate others if you don’t appreciate yourself. If you are any different from whom you are now, there will be a problem. "I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well." (Psalm 139:14). On a lighter note, when we are given forms to write the names of the most beautiful and the most handsome people we know, we tend to write the names of other people. Is it because we feel they are better looking than us? Are we saying we are not beautiful and handsome enough for our names to be written down?
God is so much in love with us; he will not take his time to make us in his image if we don’t mean the world to him. Self-love is a major life preservative. When you value your life, you value others. People commit suicide because of hopelessness. Some people are reading certain courses in school for the sake of retaliation
Loving who you are preserves your gifts and calling. Some people have bad characters, but they will tell you there is nothing they can do, as it is a part of them.
When you love yourself, you simply have nothing to envy in others. You don’t feel uneasiness or discontent at the excellence and success that others enjoy. You are happy to learn from other people who are better than you in that particular area.
Self-love will make you think of righteousness.
Self-love will make you take care of yourself. Now, our health matters a lot; the irony of it all, is that we judge people who smoke and drink that they are liable to die young, but we put so much sugar in our tea.
If you love yourself, read and believe in yourself. Leaders are readers.
Self-love will make you feed yourself both physically and spiritually. Some people, the best food they eat are the ones others give them.
We expect the Holy Spirit to remind us of all things as the scriptures say. But if we don’t have anything in us in the first place, there is nothing the Holy Spirit will remind us of.
Self-love will motivate you to learn to speak good and positive things of yourself.
Self-love will make you mindful of where you will spend eternity because that is our home.

Loving who you are, is needful not just for you, but for others. You cannot serve God when you are dead or lifeless. You own your body because it was given to you. What you do with it automatically becomes your choice. It is the invitation of Jesus Christ into your life that transforms it and makes it God's own temple.
