I wished that I had what they had and they will not have anything
left on them. I felt so insecure whenever I was around them because I felt that
I was not up to their standard. I even try changing the way I behave, talk and
act just to fit into their circle. But I later realized that some of them were
into fraud and prostitution. Their parents don't even have good standards of
living. So I asked myself; "what made me even jealous of what they
had"? Lack of contentment. We do not need to have the whole world to be
happy. God is our sufficiency. We should learn to be contented with what we
have and allow God do the job of provision. He will never abandon you if you
trust him. Develop yourself; make yourself so valuable that no one can do
without you.
The most important thing in our lives is getting close to God.
Enjoy God, Have fun in the presence of God and he will give you all your
heart's desires. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all other things
will be added unto you"-(Matt 6:33). He knows when you are ready and when
that time comes, He makes everything fall in place within the twinkle of an
eye. Do not let the lives of people be your standard. You have to be yourself
because you are unique and specially made. We do not know what the people we
envy go through behind closed doors. But instead, we see radiant smiles every
day on their faces that makes us feel they are super stars. Many of them will
not tell you the truth about their true personality or true identity because
they know that you look up to them as role models or as icons. There are some
things we cannot change about ourselves. So just get used to it and get over it!
